The useful conclusion is not one “average” price. It is that bundled versus standalone service, location, and scope materially change the number.
What changes the quote?
- Inspection level: Visual, technical, and invasive work require different time, access, and documentation.
- Number of systems: A stove and a separate fireplace may be priced as separate systems.
- Access and complexity: Attics, crawl spaces, roof access, liners, concealed sections, and camera work add time.
- Travel: Rural or out-of-area appointments may carry mileage or minimum-call charges.
- Cleaning: A sweep may be recommended before an inspection if deposits obstruct the view; it is not automatically included.
- Urgency and revisits: Rush scheduling, correction reviews, and return trips may be separate charges.
